Im Yoona (born May 30, 1990 in Seoul, South Korea), also Im Yun-Ah, is a South Korean idol singer, dancer, actress, promotional model. She is a member of the girl group, Girls' Generation or SNSD. She began to train with the other trainees under SM Entertainment in the areas of acting, singing and dancing. She has trained with SM for 5 years, after which she joined and debuted under Girls' Generation.
Yoona made her debut as an actress in 2007 with the drama 9 Ends, 2 Outs. In 2008, she acted in the drama Woman of Matchless Beauty before her first leading role in the daily drama You Are My Destiny which she won her important recognitions in acting. YoonA filmed her 2009 drama Cinderella Man alongside with Kwon Sang-woo.
In 2011, Yoona was cast in a lead role with Jang Geun Suk in the drama entitled Love Rain. The drama will begin broadcast in 2012 on KBS2. Love Rain is a fantasy drama about fate and how the offspring of a previous ill-fated couple who met in the 1970s, also manage to fall in love with each other. Love Rain will be directed by Yoon Suk Ho with the script by Oh Su Yeon, a pair that also created Autumn in My Heart and Winter Sonata, the latter of which Love Rain is being compared to.
